Newbie Marketing Tips
Searching for ways to earn on the internet is like panning for gold, a few nuggets and a whole lot of sand. I started this blog as kind of a personal journal as to my experience in internet marketing.
As most rookies my search started with a Google search... "how to earn extra money online"
Wow was that a trip! There started an odyssey that ran through hundreds of pages of "offers", "opportunities", "get rich" schemes, scams, and other dirty tricks. To put it simply,nearly a complete waste of time. I say "nearly" because after weeks of sifting the "BS" I realized that it's not so much what they were selling but HOW they were selling. After going back through the most interesting pages it was time to start breaking it down as to why those web sites caught my attention. For the most part it's not fonts, colors, in-your-face titles, or big colorful pics. The best ones are the clean and simple web sites with plenty of rich heartfelt content. The ones where the links, ads and other offers don't overwhelm the senses. Usually 80% content-20% marketing.
These are the places where the best web marketing information can be found. There are thousands of ways to earn on the internet. And more developed every day. In my experience the best option for a beginner is to choose no more then a few and learn all can about them. Google tends to have the easiest system to get started and that is where you should begin.
Probably the most important advise is SPEND NO MONEY AT FIRST. There is really no need.
No need to purchase web hosting, classes, DVD's, books or any software in the beginning.
Once you can generate a steady income, only then should you reinvest part of that back into the business. Begin by starting a blog, and that will be your first web page. In addition to Blogger there are many free blog hosting sites, just do the research.
Begin writing content, about anything and everything you find an interest in. Don't worry about quality at this point. Quality will improve, just make your writing informative and to the point.
A couple hundred words is a good start. If your worried about others opinions, don't be. You can also disable the reply feature in most of these blogs. Just because this blog is free dose not mean it can't start earning for you. Since this is Blogger I'll use this as an example. Start by using Google AdSense and create an account. This is where you find all the info you'll need to place little ads, buttons, and other great content for your blog. Blogger ties in great with AdSense, Gmail, and every thing to get started. This is how you earn in a nutshell, everytime a visitor to your blog clicks on one of your ads and signs up for a product, Google will send you a percentage as a check or direct deposit. That is it, but lets be serious, this income will not replace your day job. Amounts will be very small at first, but it is a start and a good primer for more to come.
